Course introduction
You can take a big step towards achieving your employment goals by completing the PACE course. PACE is unique in providing all the necessary life skills that bridge the gap between education and employment. Above all, PACE is about giving you the confidence to unlock your potential while improving your knowledge and skills in preparation for work. Whether you are aiming for an apprenticeship, still deciding on your next steps, or aiming to remain in Further Education, this one-year programme will develop your core abilities. As a result, you will be able to show employers and recruiters that you have genuine potential.

At Brock our specialist PACE teachers know how to develop your strengths and address your weaknesses by adapting the course to your individual needs.
As a learner you will benefit from an industry-specific work placement, approximately 75 hours, as well as training in English and maths if you require it.
Teaching & learning
You will learn through both traditional methods and more modern, innovative methods. There will be practical team-building exercises, problem-solving group work, communication development sessions, guest speakers, day trips, volunteering opportunities, computer-based work and in-depth discussions. You will also complete a work placement.
Minimum entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements. However, you will be interviewed to assess your suitability for this course.
In order to complete this course successfully you must be willing to travel to your work placement.
Course structure
PACE comprises a range of units, including: CV writing, interview skills, effective communication, working as part of a team, health and safety, and rights and responsibilities in the workplace.
What can I do with this qualification?
You will gain a nationally recognised qualification that will strengthen your job applications and demonstrate your suitability for a range of roles. Previous PACE students have gone straight into work or an apprenticeship. Meanwhile, others have opted for further study and/or skills training.
