Teaching & learning
Classes are designed to be engaging, interactive and closely linked to industry.
You will participate in discussions, group activities, presentations and independent research, supported by a range of digital learning tools.
Meanwhile, realistic situations, presented in class, will enable you to develop practical skills, confidence and an understanding of future opportunities.
Course assessment
Assessment will be varied and designed to reflect the different skills needed in travel and tourism.
You will complete a range of presentations, written assignments and practical activities.
These will demonstrate your knowledge, communication and employability skills in different ways.
Above all, assessments will encourage you to apply your understanding to realistic situations.
This will build your confidence and prepare you for further study or employment.
There will be no exams.
Minimum entry requirements
Four GCSEs at grade 3 and above, including English Language.
What can I do with this qualification?
This qualification can lead to a wide range of opportunities in travel and tourism.
For example, you may progress to Level 3 study, an apprenticeship or employment in sectors such as aviation, rail, hospitality and travel services.
Previous students have gone on to careers working as cabin crew and other roles at Bournemouth and Southampton airports.
Apprenticeships in the rail sector, positions at major hotel chains and employment with leading travel agencies have also proved popular.
