It is really important you attend this day so that you are confident about your course choices in September.

What to do when you arrive
Brockenhurst Campus
Your Welcome Tutor session will start at the main college site at 9:00am and will run for 20 minutes.
If you are taking the free college bus, it will get you to college in plenty of time for your first session. If you are making your own way you can arrive at any time from 8:30am.
On arrival, please go directly to the Sports Hall where you will be given your room number and guided to your first session. During this session you will be given your timetable for the day.
We have added a downloadable map so you can see where the Sports Hall is on campus. Our staff and Student Ambassadors will be there to greet and guide you as you arrive.
Ultima (New Milton) – Beauty Courses
Please arrive at our New Milton beauty salon, Ultima, for 9:00am.
Please make your own way to Ultima in New Milton. If you catch the train to New Milton station, you will need to purchase a valid ticket for the day. Ultima is approximately a 10-minute walk from the station.
Marchwood – Construction and Marine Courses
Please arrive at Marchwood Skills Centre for 9:00am.
You can make your way to Marchwood Skills Centre or you can catch the free college bus (C27) from Totton train station.
What should I wear?
You can wear what you like at college as long as you are suitably covered and what you wear is not offensive to others. However, if your programme includes sport, exercise, fitness or performing arts, please bring appropriate clothing and footwear.
What do I do about refreshments?
Brockenhurst campus
The Hard Brock Café will be open to serve a variety of hot and cold food. You can pay with either cash or by card.
If the Hard Brock Café is busy, or you would like to explore the surrounding area, you can walk into Brockenhurst village where there is a mix of cafes and shops serving food.
You will have a timetabled 25-minute break
Ultima (New Milton) – Beauty courses
If you are based at Ultima you can walk into New Milton where there are many outlets selling food and drink.
Marchwood – Construction and Marine Courses
If you are based at Marchwood, please bring your own refreshments.
What can I do during free periods? (Brockenhurst campus only)
When you receive your timetable you may have a Free Period. During these sessions you can:
- Explore the campus. There are plenty of open spaces at the College both indoors and outside.
- Visit the LRC where you will find a range of activities, including colouring, puzzles, Lego and Minecraft.
- Go to the Staff Lawn where our Student Ambassadors will be running garden games. You can just turn up and play any of the following:
- Volleyball
- Table tennis
- Giant Jenga
- Garden chess
TIP: If you have any questions on the day, or need to find a room, just ask one of our Student Ambassadors to point you in the right direction.
What time does the day end?
Brockenhurst campus
Lessons finish at Brock at 12:50pm and college buses leave at 1:00pm.
You will be free to leave once your lessons have finished. However, Student Ambassadors will run the garden games until 3:00pm. The Hard Brock Café will also remain open, serving drinks and snacks until 3:00pm.
Ultima (New Milton) – Beauty Courses
The day will end at Ultima at 1:00pm.
Marchwood – Construction and Marine Courses
The day will end at Marchwood at 1:00pm. You can either make your own way home or take the college bus back to Totton train station.
