Foundation degrees are degree-level qualifications that combine academic study with workplace learning.

Designed in association with employers, and focussing on a particular job or profession, they will equip you with the relevant skills, knowledge and understanding alongside academic results.

They are two-year courses, with an option to progress to a BA (Hons) Early Childhood upon completion.

Foundation Degree in Early Years

This course is designed for those currently working in a variety of early years settings for example, Sure Start, pre-schools, nurseries, children’s health services (such as speech therapy) and in social services early childhood centres.

Foundation Degree for Teaching & Learning Support

This course is designed for those working as a teaching assistant in an early years setting, a primary or secondary school or a school for children with SEN; it will underpin and develop the role of those supporting teaching and learning through intermediate level study, providing professional development in relevant skills, knowledge and understanding at university level.
