Business students staged family fun event
Vocational business students from Brockenhurst College ran a family fun day at New Milton Arts Centre recently in partnership with the Wessex Heritage Trust.
The ‘Alice in Wonderland’ themed event attracted 21 people who participated in activities such as face-painting, sponge throwing, lucky dip and ‘mad hat’ making.
The aim of the fun day was to give students hands-on experience of organising and running a profitable event.
Local businesses Radcliffe, Power Mortgages, AGASHE and Bin and Gone provided sponsorship to help cover costs.
Student Jake Perrin said afterwards: “This has been a really enjoyable and worthwhile learning experience. It has also been fantastic to have so much support from the sponsors and venue operators.”
Youth Development Manager from the Wessex Heritage Trust, Alex Davidson, said: “I would like to thank and also congratulate the students and teachers from Brockenhurst College who did such a great job.”
Director of the Forest Arts Centre, Helen Cundy, said: “It’s great to work with Brockenhurst on this project and it has been a pleasure to host the event here at the Forest Arts Centre.
“The students have been fantastic and they’ve a gained such great, hands on experience in organising events. It’s been a pleasure.”
