Principal Di Roberts CBE and Head of Construction, Adrian Grainge, were the hosts of the event that took place on the main College site.

The evening began with a formal welcome and speech by Di and Adrian, followed by a presentation of individual awards. There were ten categories in each trade at Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 and one ‘Best Overall Student’ award.

Student Matthew Johnson, who was presented ‘Best Overall Student’, commented, “I’m so pleased to have won this for my achievements. The staff have been so supportive and the course has helped me gain a job working at TIS electronics in Ringwood”.

Student Daniel Pothecary, who was awarded a trophy for L3 Electrical Installation, added: “The course has given me the skills and knowledge I need for the workplace. I now work installing solar panels – Brock’s connections with the industry really helped me secure a job”.

Adrian Grainge, Head of Construction, said: “It is always a pleasure to celebrate the achievements of our students and an event like this gives us the opportunity to do that. While these students are rightly being acknowledged for their achievements as the best in their group this is also a reflection of all the good work that has gone on in the Construction Department at Marchwood over the last year for which all the students and staff are to be congratulated.”
