Environmental Science lecturer attended international conference after being selected

Brockenhurst College Environmental Science lecturer Jane Mead was selected to be one of four geoscience teachers representing the UK at the recent European Geosciences annual conference in Vienna.

The event hosted over 20,000 scientists from around the world, with Jane one of ninety teachers attending two-and-a-half days of intensive teacher enhancement workshops.

Top scientists working in the Earth sciences fields provided the selected teachers with lectures, hands-on activities and poster sessions, centred on this year’s theme: ‘The Changing Climate of our Planet’.

Jane said: “I was proud to represent Brockenhurst College both as an Earth sciences teacher and a STEM ambassador.

“I look forward to sharing teaching strategies and activities with colleagues across college departments, as well as using the most up-to-date materials with our students to further enhance their scientific learning and understanding.”
