Brock A level student and up-and-coming horsewoman Olivia Mitchell won Bronze in the Dodson & Horrell 100 Eventers Challenge at Blenheim Palace recently.

Sixteen-year-old Olivia and her horse Woody qualified for the event following a successful season in British Eventing 100 events.

The pair cleared eight show jumps and nine cross-country fences to finish just over the optimum time, securing third place.

Olivia from Lymington said afterwards: “It was a great experience. It was amazing to be competing alongside a 3-star event, giving me the opportunity to see some of the people competing at such a high standard.

“I’m so lucky to be competing at venues like Blenheim Palace. It’s such a brilliant experience to compete against other people in my class and then have the opportunity to watch the professionals in the international competitions.”

Olivia’s dressage trainer Kristina West said: ‘Olivia’s determined yet sympathetic approach in her training programme has secured consistent results. Attention to detail and dealing with the horse as an individual are among her strengths.”

Olivia and Woody have also qualified for the Mitsubishi Motors Cup, which will be held at Badminton Horse Trials next May.
