More than 50 Uniformed Public Services students from Brockenhurst College assembled at the village’s war memorial on
Armistice Day to honour the sacrifice of British soldiers.
At 11am they observed the customary two minute silence alongside school children, veterans and members of the public.
The 16-18 year old students study on the College’s Level 3 Extended Diploma in Uniformed Public Services and aim for careers in either the military or emergency services.
Cadet Sargent Major George Gillespie said afterwards: “These young men and women have a strong sense of civic pride and responsibility, which means they needed no encouragement to pay their respects today.”
