Pre-A level

This is a one-year, intensive course designed to prepare you for A level study. It is an academic course that will enable you to build a good foundation of knowledge in subject specific and English language skills.

Upon successful completion, you will gain five GCSEs, which is a minimum requirement for UK schools and colleges for progression to A level study.

The course has been carefully structured to focus on four key academic areas, including English language and study skills, in order to allow students to progress to any A level subject.

Business and Communication Systems*: Develop the key employability skills involved in using standard office software. Explore and suggest improvements to communication systems within a business environment. *Spanish Language may be available as an alternative to Business and Communication Systems. Timetable permitting and if you have the required previous knowledge of the subject.

ESOL Classes

In addition to your Pre-A level study, you will also benefit from complimentary English classes, ESOL (English for speakers of Other Languages). These classes run alongside your classes throughout the year to support you further and ensure you achieve outstanding results.

We expect you to have an IELTS 5.0 overall with no band below 4.5 or equivalent UKVI approved English Language certificate.

Students with a high academic performance but with an overall IELTS score of below 5.0 overall will be offered the opportunity to join one of our English support courses that will allow them to meet our English entry requirements.
