Through our broad and fulfilling progression programme you can embed key networking skills and present yourself as an outstanding candidate for employment and/or higher-level study.
You will benefit from support delivered by staff across the College, enabling you to follow your chosen path and secure your progression.
Importantly, we hold Matrix accreditation, which evidences the high quality of impartial information, advice and guidance available to you.
Careers support at Brock
You will have access to an extensive range of opportunities, resources and expertise through our careers programme, such as:
- One-to-one impartial information, advice and guidance from our experienced Careers Leader.
- Activities throughout National Careers Week and National Apprenticeships Week.
- Visits to and from universities, which will include subject-specific interactive workshops.
- A Higher Education Fair with over 70 universities showcasing their strengths.
- Our Aspire Academy, which provides personalised support for students aiming for elite universities and careers.
- Industrial placement opportunities from our directory of over 2,000 employers, supported by our Employability Development Officer.
- Our STEM Academy, which is for students wishing to make their mark in the world of science, technology, engineering and maths.
- Our Performing Arts Academy, which is for students with real prospects of forging glittering careers in live performance and recorded entertainment.

Quality in Careers Award
At Brock we are committed to providing comprehensive careers education that will enable you to develop important employability and workplace skills.
As such, we are proud to have achieved the national Quality in Careers Standard for our information, advice and guidance.
This award is fully aligned with the eight Gatsby Benchmarks, which provide a framework that schools and colleges can use to develop a good careers programme.
Next Steps events
Whether you plan to study at university or want to start your career immediately, we provide support, guidance and advice through our Next Steps events.
We hold several Higher Education events throughout the year, which we will encourage you to attend. You can choose to meet with individual representatives from around 70 universities to discuss your course options in detail.
Importantly, we can discuss these options with you individually and help you with the UCAS application process.
Past Next Steps events have included our Gap-Year and Volunteering Fair, attended by major global companies offering work experience.
Work Experience
Whether you are studying a Vocational programme or A Level courses, we understand the importance of work experience in securing the job or university place you want.
Over many years we have developed mutually beneficial relationships with companies across a wide range of areas, delivering work experience opportunities of substantial worth.
