I heard about Brock through friends. I liked the idea that it was a large college so I could meet new people. I love how you’re treated like an adult at Brock and encouraged to use facilities like the Learning Resources Centre for independent learning. All this has prepared me well for the step up to university.
At Brock I was mentored by fun, helpful and knowledgeable lecturers. They helped me with my career path and made me realise my strong point is in media. My long-term goal is to be a music video director. I would love to be in America working with talented people to help create their art.
The best part about Brock is definitely the people. During my two years I made numerous friends that I will keep for life, whilst the approachable staff members created a fantastic learning environment. Brock helped me to get a taste of what lots of different careers could be like, which helped me make the decision that was right for me.
I joined the academy to improve my overall hockey ability and that's exactly what the academy allowed me to do. With high level coaches they gave me advise on how to improve and they were a massive help in my development. The social side of the academy was also a huge part of the academy as it has a family feel to it.
Brockenhurst Basketball academy is a great environment and has helped me improve as a player physically and mentally, the level of coaching is among the top in the UK and this shows with the success the academy has had each year. Academically I have achieved a lot because of the academy motivating me to play.

I chose Brock because of the wide range of subjects that many sixth forms and other colleges near me don’t offer. What I enjoyed most is making such great friends, especially on my Chinese GCSE course. We all have an amazing bond and thanks to Brock I have some fantastic memories.
Among the highlights of my time at Brock are all the practical experiments I have performed in Biology and Chemistry. What’s more, trips to Oxford and Cambridge universities and visits from university lectures and medical professionals have really helped me to make up my mind about studying Medicine.
I really enjoyed my time at Brock and looking back I think it has really benefited me going into a career in football. Whilst studying my BTEC I signed my first professional contract. During my second year I gained a move to a Championship club.Being part of the Football Academy has opened many doors.
I’ve been part of the Academy for two years and absolutely loved it! It’s encouraged me to become more confident and I have enjoyed my overall college experience because of netball. It’s allowed me to improve my netball and fitness skills and I have found it a great way to take a break from college work.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time playing in Brockenhurst College Rugby Academy. From playing school and club rugby I was impressed with the standard and step up from this level. The highlight for me would be the rivalry between our college and Peter Symonds, every time we played it made for an exciting and intense match bringing the best out of both sides. A great experience, with a strong team held together by some top coaches
