Ladies Football Academy

The Ladies Football Academy enables aspiring female footballers with talent and determination, to realise their sporting potential. It provides the opportunity to train for four hours a week alongside your academic studies, with fixtures every Wednesday.

The Academy helps to develop high-quality players and support them in the transition from youth football to Ladies football.

It offers the chance for personal development and players receive consistent encouragement to be the best possible.

The Academy training programme includes fitness sessions, tactical and technical development and high level competition.

Meet the team

Sue Bruce Burgess has over 10 years of playing experience and her current club is Mudeford Phoenix Ladies F.C where she plays across the back line. Sue is an integral part of the Academy having spent many years successfully coaching at Brockenhurst, in recent years Sue’s focus has been on our female pathway but she continues to work with all of our players to develop their physical profile.

 

Sue holds an FA Level 2 Football Coaching award, as well Level 2 and Level 3 Fitness qualifications including circuit training, weight training, spinning, kettle bells and advanced studio resistance training.

Get Involved – Taster Sessions

If you fancy being part of the Basketball Academy, then come along to one of our Sports Academy taster sessions to find out more about our academies and how you can take part in sport alongside your studies. Our Basketball taster sessions are held in May each year.

Academy is open access to all Brock Students we expect our academy players to have a good level of playing experience in their chosen sport be it from playing for school or representing at a higher level such as club, county or regional. We also expect to see a willingness to learn and develop and a full commitment to your team.

Facilities, Costs and Venues

The rewards from the Sports Academy will be highly beneficial for any aspiring athlete’s development – you will play sport in a competitive professional environment, receive excellent coaching and benefit from outstanding training facilities. Training takes place at the college’s main campus using the sports hall and fitness suite.

The costs to join the academy are kept at a minimum, however we do ask all students to pay a £50 fee to join which goes towards all costs, such as league entries, referees, trips, accommodation, tours, insurance, pitch hire etc. Students will also be asked to purchase the Basketball Academy team kit.
