What are the main benefits the apprenticeship scheme has brought to your business?

The scheme allows us to develop Apprentices into confident employees with a great work ethic and self-belief. It also demonstrates our commitment to allowing individuals to take on structured and measured training for the mutual benefit of the company and themselves. The scheme has been vital to maintaining our long-term business plan and we will continue to invest in this way.

Please describe the support you and your apprentice have received from Brock:

What advice would you give to a fellow employer who is thinking about getting an Apprentice?

We would advise them it is a two-way street. For example, it will be necessary to allow candidates time and resources during their normal paid working hours to carry out some of their assignments, but you can expect candidates to use their own time off-site as well. It’s best to keep a balanced approach to get the full benefits of the scheme – be conscious of busy workloads on the day-to-day. Also, keep in tune with the assessor to make sure assignments are on target, and provide extra resources if necessary.
