Where are you now?

The University of Oxford to study Medicine

Congratulations on your results. How do you feel?

“I am really happy. It’s what I was hoping for, and I don’t feel like I could have done any better.”

Are there any members of staff in particular you feel have especially helped you on your journey?

“All of my teachers were really helpful, especially Rachel Fowkes with my application to Oxford.”

What have been your ‘highlights’ or best experiences while attending Brock?

“I really enjoyed being part of HE Plus. I attended many talks and workshops with students from other colleges, and the activities were always interesting.”

What made you choose to study at Brock?

“My brother came to Brock, and it was a good distance from where I live. The reputation is good, and the teachers seemed really nice.”

What extra opportunities have you taken while studying at Brock?

“I did quite a few Enrichments: Medical Matters, Yoga, Criminology… I also volunteered at the care home in the village and was in an Aspire tutor group.”

What did you enjoy or find particularly inspiring about your subjects?

“Biology was great. My teacher delivered in-depth and interesting lessons about the body. Also, my Chemistry teacher would always have a story to tell when explaining something to the class.”

What are you planning to do next?

“I am off to the University of Oxford to study Medicine.”

What are your long-term career goals?

“Eventually I would like to be a doctor.”
