I chose Brock because of the extra freedom the College gives you. I was done with ‘school-school’ – I didn’t want that… Looking back, I believe you get out of Brock what you put in. It’s a nice balance of support and freedom.

I’ve really enjoyed being part of the Debating Society. It was a definite high-point for me to come in every week and debate important topics within a community of likeminded students.
I’ve also taken part in a lot of activities held elsewhere but organised through the college. I’ve been to the University of Southampton for a Physics workshop and a politics workshop; I’ve gone to London for a politics workshop; Bournemouth University, again, politics workshop; the HE+ option in economics – that was great; and a masterclass for philosophy at Cambridge, which was fun.
I’ve just completed work experience with JP Morgan, which was interesting. They have a well-structured development programme, so I wasn’t just shadowing someone behind a desk. Instead of that I had lots of activities arranged for me.
After college I’m aiming to study Philosophy, Politics and Economics at a top university with a view to launching a career working for a non-governmental organisation (NGO). For example, a post with the United Nations would be very interesting to me.
