We cannot fault Brockenhurst College at all. They have supported us for many years with our Apprentices. They have always been at the end of a telephone or email and regularly visit the workplace to see the candidates. They then update us as employers after every meeting.

What are the main benefits the apprenticeship scheme has brought to your business?

We have seen young enthusiastic people come to us as Apprentices. They are eager to learn and prove themselves. They have been able to grow within the business by offering ideas and taking on more responsibility as their confidence increases with knowledge. They have been a true asset to our business.

How does the scheme aid your long-term human resources strategy?

We have had great success with all our Apprentices. They have either decided to move up to the next level of learning or have been kept on once the course has finished because they are a great asset to the company.

What advice would you give to a fellow employer who is thinking about getting an Apprentice?

We have seen a whole new level of maturity from the Apprentices that we have taken on. They are very ambitious and want to please their employer. They are hard workers, keen learners and totally appreciate the opportunity they have been given to learn and be paid for it – all while bettering their future career.
