Niall Smith

During my time studying Physics I felt less like I was being taught in the traditional sense. That’s because we spent so much time exploring the wider field of physics as you would at university level. I met some amazing friends in Chemistry, and the classroom environment was amazing.

Studied:

Maths (A*), Physics (A*), Chemistry (A), Further Maths (A)

Where are you now?

Durham University studying Engineering

Congratulations on your results. How do you feel?

Incredibly relieved… I set myself very high targets and managed to hit them.

Are there any particular members of staff who have helped you throughout your time at Brock?

All of my teachers helped me incredibly on my journey. I couldn’t single anyone out as they have all been amazing.

What has been your highlight while attending Brock?

My highlight in my final year at Brock would be the time I spent on my Extended Project Qualification. The relaxed learning environment was exactly what I needed to achieve my goals.

What made you choose to study at Brock?

I chose to study at Brock because of the atmosphere I experienced when I first came to look around. It was so open and accepting, and that was just what I was looking for.

What did you enjoy or find particularly inspiring about each of your subjects?

During my time studying Physics I felt less like I was being taught in the traditional sense. That’s because we spent so much time exploring the wider field of physics as you would at university level. I met some amazing friends in Chemistry, and the classroom environment was amazing.

What are you planning to do next?

I’m sad to be leaving Brock. The atmosphere is very open and accepting here, and I’ve made some amazing friends. But I’m so excited to be starting a degree in Engineering at Durham University.

What are your long-term career goals?

I hope to work in motorsport one day.
