This course is aimed at students who would like to acquire conversational Italian, along with a working knowledge of the language for practical situations. You will focus on conversation, speaking and correct pronunciation, while keeping grammar to a minimum. Importantly, you will have at least one year of previous study in Italian behind you. You will learn and practise fundamental language skills, helping you develop basic communication abilities and a secure understanding of the essentials of life in Italy. The key skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing Italian will be practised in an engaging and supportive way, with a range of tasks and activities set during each lesson, as well as regular homework. There will be no formal testing, but your work and progress will be monitored by your Tutor.

This course is suitable for people who want to converse in the Italian language, but who are willing to make mistakes, have a go and learn. We will encourage you to purchase a textbook and/or grammar books, dictionaries and verb books, according to your previous experience. We recommend: HUGO – Italian in 3 months.
