What’s happening at Brock?
The route to success starts with one single step…
I had always wanted to study at Brockenhurst College because of its good reputation, its setting in the forest and the wide range of courses it offers. I also felt it would provide me with a sense of independence, both as a student and a person.
One of the most valuable experiences I have had at Brock was the trip to CERN in Geneva, to see the large hadron collider.
I really enjoyed my time at Brock and looking back I think it has really benefited me going into a career in football. Whilst studying my BTEC I signed my first professional contract. During my second year I gained a move to a Championship club.Being part of the Football Academy has opened many doors.
Among the highlights of my time at Brock are all the practical experiments I have performed in Biology and Chemistry. What’s more, trips to Oxford and Cambridge universities and visits from university lectures and medical professionals have really helped me to make up my mind about studying Medicine.

I fell in love with Brockenhurst College on my first visit. It was warm and welcoming with a great breadth of courses on offer. It felt more mature and relaxed than my old school’s sixth form and other colleges I’d visited.
I chose Brock because I really wanted something new. I felt it was a place where I would be treated as an adult to help me gain independence. Also, the course I wanted to do was very specific, and Brock was one of the only places I knew that offered it.
The best things about Brock for me have been meeting new people and taking more responsibility for my learning.
I’ve particularly enjoyed being a Student Ambassador, which has helped me develop my confidence and communication skills. It’s also something I can put on my CV.
Coming to Brock was the best decision I could have made. The atmosphere here is so positive and friendly. Brock has also helped me gain the drive and work ethic I need if I am going to succeed in the musical theatre business and in life generally.
I chose Brock because of its good reputation, friendly atmosphere, and the way it acts as a stepping stone towards life at university in terms of the overall learning experience.
