The Greenwood Bursary

The Greenwood Bursary funds university tuition fees for a Brock student who has excelled in STEM subjects and faces financial hardship. This bursary funds three years of a full degree course for a student who has selected a BA, BSc or BEng degree programme in a STEM subject.

The Greenwood Bursary may only be awarded to one student a year and was established in 2018 by retired Lyndhurst couple, John and Marion Greenwood, who together have backgrounds in engineering and education.

Brockenhurst College Greenwood Bursary 2024 recipient:

We asked care leaver and 2024 Greenwood Bursary recipient, Paige Allen, about her bursary success and her ambitions to become a senior paediatric nurse following her BSc child nursing degree at University of Southampton.

Here’s what she said:

“Brockenhurst College has supported my ambition by being flexible. Brock really allows you to take the lead in your education, but simultaneously it supports and guides you through your options. Brock stands out among the other colleges in our area because it allows students to mature by giving them freedom and letting them take responsibility. Brock sees uniqueness in every student and welcomes them without judgment.”
