Brockenhurst village sign designed by Brock student installed at Waters Green

A new street sign welcoming people to Brockenhurst – designed by Brock leaver Sam Webster – has appeared at the junction of Waters Green opposite the college.
Sam, from Totton, was one of 32 Graphics students who submitted designs to Brockenhurst Parish Council in 2018.
The council and residents then shortlisted ten designs before choosing Sam’s through a vote.
Finance, planning and the pandemic delayed the project’s completion until recently.
But now residents and visitors can admire Sam’s creation, which is set in cast iron and stands at the top of a 12-foot oak plinth.
The design incorporates trees, a pony, a bike and a dog, with the word Brockenhurst standing out in white lettering against a black background.
Curriculum Leader for Animation, Graphics and Textiles, Laura-Jane Baker said:
“Seeing Sam’s work move beyond the classroom and into the heart of the village is a wonderful achievement.
“I hope this inspires all our students to continue pushing their creative boundaries and to recognise the real world impact their skills can achieve.”
