student life: general travel information
General Travel Information

Both rail and bus transport are subsidised by the College.  Travel info will be sent to all students who are offered a place at Brock.  Orders should be completed online or via the Student Information Team and returned to us asap to ensure travel passes are ready for collection by the start of term. You are strongly advised to submit your application as soon as you receive the form and not wait until exam results are received.

Applicants seeking financial assistance from their Local Authority or the College Student Support Fund, should note that we will not issue a travel pass until the application has been received and agreed.

Travelling by Bus

Our extensive College bus network enables students to travel from Lymington, Christchurch, Wimborne, Ringwood, Fordingbridge, Totton, Southampton, Romsey, Salisbury, the Isle of Wight plus numerous other towns and villages.

We have found that there are often some "settling down" issues with the bus services at the beginning of the year as we balance the numbers of students on buses and adjust to new stops.

The latest Bus Timetable is available now!

  • For all buses, students must have either a College Bus pass or temporary pass, available from the Student Information Counter
  • If they have neither, they will be asked to pay the normal fare. If they cannot, they will be asked to produce their student id card as proof that they are a student
  • Students travelling home by service bus must do so before 7.30pm, however the time restriction on travelling to college has been removed

Please direct queries to the Student Information Team on 01590 625555 ext 468 or 376 or 533 or e mail studentservice1@brock.ac.uk

Travelling by train

Travelling by Train

The South West Trains network covers stations from Poole, Bournemouth, Hinton Admiral, Christchurch, Weymouth, Totton, Southampton, Ashurst, Lymington, Wareham, Winchester, Basingstoke and many more.

We can also provide a Link pass that enables Students to use a bus to connect them with a main College bus route or railway station.

Students travelling by train must have their college train pass/rail ID card or a valid daily ticket at all times.

Regular checks are carried out on the trains and at Brockenhurst and other stations on our route. Please note that our train passes are "Scholars Passes" and can only be used during the standard college term dates (from 6th September for the beginning of the term) and times.
