Exploring Buildings in Mixed Media

You will explore the shapes, proportions and textures of buildings using a variety of approaches. You will use mixed media (wet and dry), experiment with drawing over water colour washes, and use collage and wax relief to create the textural appearances of stone, brick and foliage. You will use facades and buildings in landscapes as topics. You will also use conventional and unconventional tools (provided). Please bring:

• Watercolour and or Acrylics 300gsm watercolour paper (not surface) or canvas if using acrylics (watercolour paper is also suitable for this medium).
• Suitable brushes (flat and round).
• Coloured pencils.
• Oil pastels.
• Soft pastels (these will be available for use if you don’t have these).
• Glue stick (not PVA as this takes too long to dry).

Your Tutor will provide other materials for use on the day.
