Within our Early Childhood and Health department you will be taught by a highly qualified team. Many of our teachers hold higher level degrees and have a wealth of experience as professionals in health and social care settings.

Teaching & learning
During your studies you will benefit from modern teaching methods such as blended learning and flipped learning.
Computer technology will play a leading role in enhancing your academic and practical skills. Meanwhile, other learning initiatives include: class debates, peer reviews and engagement with clinical research.
Your work placement is a key component of the course and will bring greater meaning to your classroom learning. It will also give you valuable experience.
Information & support
You will need to be available for one day of work experience per week.
A DBS check will be required.
Minimum entry requirements
Four GCSEs at grade 3 and above to include:

- Develop your skills of communication and also understand the significance of effective communication in healthcare.

- Prepare for a successful career in a health and social care setting.
What can I do with this qualification?
Once you have achieved success on your course you may decide to seek an apprenticeship opportunity in health and social care to gain further professional experience.
Alternatively, you may wish to proceed straight onto a Level 3 vocational course. This will not only make you more qualified, but will open the prospect of applying to study a healthcare subject at university.
