Italian – improvers

This course is aimed at people who have completed the beginners plus and beginners/improvers courses, or people who have previously studied Italian up to A2 level and want to further improve fluency to advance towards B1 (lower intermediate level). You will have the opportunity to further expand your knowledge of verb tenses, vocabulary and grammatical structure. You will broaden your current vocabulary through translation and discussion of materials such as newspaper articles and through role play. Topics covered will include present, imperfect, near perfect and future verb forms. You will also work on describing people, places, personality, mood and emotions. In addition, you will gain an introduction to some idioms and phrasal verbs used in conversational language, plus the history, customs and everyday life of modern Italy. The core language skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing will be explored in a way that will add greater depth to your Italian learning experience. There is a strong emphasis on one-to-one and group conversation in this class. There will be no formal assessment, but you can still practise your skills in a supportive environment under the supervision of an experienced Tutor.
