The T Level in Media, Broadcast and Production is for creative students who want to bring ideas to life through film, television and digital content. You will develop practical skills using professional equipment, work on production projects and gain experience through an industry placement.

Course information


As a student, you will:

  1. Plan, produce and edit media content using professional equipment and software.

Teaching & learning


Learning is practical and focused on the media industry. You will work on production projects, collaborate with other students and analyse contemporary media. Using cameras and editing software, you will create content for a range of platforms.

Workshops, briefs, demonstrations and independent projects will help you develop your technical and creative skills. You will also gain workplace experience through an industry placement.

Course assessment


Assessment includes a core examination, an employer-set project and an occupational specialism assessment, where you demonstrate your practical skills. You must also complete an industry placement of at least 315 hours.

Minimum entry requirements


Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English Language and Maths.

What can I do with this qualification?


You could progress to a degree in media production, film, television, journalism, marketing or digital media. Other options include an apprenticeship or employment in areas such as broadcasting, digital marketing, podcasting, social media and content production.

Your projects and industry placement will help you build a portfolio and gain experience of working in the sector.
