Spanish – complete beginners (three-term programme)

This course is for people with no previous knowledge of the Spanish language. You will learn pronunciation and the use of masculine and feminine forms. You will also be introduced to regular verb conjugation and simple sentence structures fundamental for communicating. By the end of this course, you should have attained knowledge of A1 level vocabulary and phrases, enabling you to communicate in a simple way in a variety of practical everyday situations. The core language skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing will be explored in ways that will also help you develop a greater understanding of Spanish culture. Topics will include simple greetings, the alphabet, numbers, gender, direct articles and indirect articles. Vocabulary associated with talking about yourself and your family, where you live, shops, shopping, restaurants and food, will be covered as well. There will be no formal assessment. Rather, this is simply an opportunity to practise your skills in a supportive environment under the supervision of a qualified Tutor.
