Spanish – improvers (a three-term programme)

This course is aimed at learners who have completed the Beginners Plus, A1, and beginners/improvers A2 courses, or those who have previously studied Spanish up to A2 level and want to further improve their fluency to advance towards B1 (lower intermediate level). You will expand your knowledge of verb tenses, vocabulary and grammatical structure. You will also broaden your vocabulary through translation and discussion of realia materials, such as newspaper articles, and through role play. Topics covered will include present, past, future and conditional tenses, plus reflexive and imperative verb forms. Describing people, places, personality, mood and emotions, and some Idioms and Phrasal Verbs, will be covered too. You will also explore the history, customs and everyday life of modern Spain and Latin America. Importantly, the core language skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing will be explored to add greater depth to your Spanish learning experience. There is a strong emphasis on one-to-one and group conversation in this class. There will be no formal assessment, but you can still practise your skills in a supportive environment under the supervision of a qualified Tutor.
