Tai Chi – improving beginners

This course is designed for people who have some prior experience of Tai Chi, at least one terms of tuition. Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese practice that uses slow, flowing movements to cultivate balance and coordination, while calming awareness. You will learn a structured sequence of Tai Chi movements, alongside Chi Kung (Qigong) breathing exercises and simple meditation practices. Sessions will focus on moving with ease and control, developing body awareness, and learning how to relax unnecessary tension while remaining stable and grounded. Teaching will be delivered in a traditional and supportive manner, using clear demonstrations and explanations, with time given to explore movements at a steady and accessible pace.
Course information
This course is suitable for adults of all ages and abilities. Some prior experience of Tai Chi is required. Movements can be adapted to suit individual needs, and you will be encouraged to work within your own comfort range. If you have any medical or physical conditions that may affect your participation, please consult your doctor or a qualified health professional before enrolling. If you have any concerns about exercising, these can be discussed with your Tutor at the start of the course. As with all exercise classes, you will be asked to complete a simple and confidential health questionnaire. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows free movement, along with flat, supportive footwear.
