As part of UK Parliament Week 2025, A Level Politics students at Brockenhurst College were invited to submit questions to Neil Duncan-Jordan, Labour MP for Poole.
The students’ incisive questions received thoughtful responses that brought the workings of Parliament and the responsibilities of elected representatives into sharp focus.
The Q&A session gave students a rare opportunity to engage directly with their MP on subjects ranging from how laws are made and how decisions are reached, to the role of youth in influencing democratic processes.
Mr Duncan-Jordan addressed each question with clarity, offering real-world context and encouraging young people to recognise their stake in shaping the future.
“Young people are the future, which means they have a stake in shaping how that looks.”
said Neil Duncan-Jordan, MP for Poole

Staff at the College described the initiative as a key part of the curriculum for UK Parliament Week, designed to deepen students’ political literacy and understanding of civic responsibility.
