From day one we will encourage you to think like a business person, enabling you to balance a range of competing priorities.

Teaching & learning

You will be taught through a variety of methods including:

You will also have the opportunity to plan and run a business event. Furthermore, you will be encouraged to carry out your own research within a supportive and constructive teaching framework.

Course structure

  • Examine different types of business in detail.
  • Explore the various areas within business such as finance, marketing and human resources.
  • Undertake a work placement to obtain valuable experience.
  • Acquire the key skills you need to set up and run a business.

  • Understand the process of developing a marketing plan.

Minimum entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grade 3 and above to include: 

  • English Language 
  • Maths

What can I do with this qualification?

There is a role in every organisation linked to business-related studies. Indeed, some students use this course as a stepping stone to another field such as engineering, for example.

Alternatively, this programme can open doors to new learning opportunities like our Level 3 Business course, which in turn can lead to university.
