Teaching & learning
Our teaching combines practical, hands-on experience with engaging classroom activities.
You will learn through demonstrations, peer practice, group discussions and interactive theory sessions, supported by digital resources.
Our real salon environment will allow you to develop confidence working with clients.
Meanwhile, enrichment opportunities such as industry guest speakers and other events will help bring learning to life.
We aim to create a supportive and fun atmosphere where creativity is encouraged, helping you build both your technical skills and professional confidence.
Course assessment
Assessment will be through a combination of practical coursework (70%) and external exams (30%).
Most of your grade will be achieved through ongoing coursework.
For this, you will complete practical treatments, build a portfolio of evidence and demonstrate your skills during assessor observations.
You will complete nine externally set exams to test your knowledge and understanding of key topics.
Minimum entry requirements
Four GCSEs at grade 3, including English Language
You must be at least 16 years of age.
What can I do with this qualification?

For example, you could progress to the VTCT Skills Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy.
