Teaching & learning

Your work placement is a key component of the course and will bring greater meaning to your classroom learning. It will also give you valuable experience.

Minimum entry requirements


Four GCSEs at grade 4 and above to include:
•    English Language
•    Maths
•    Science

It is desirable that you have undertaken a work placement in a healthcare setting.

What can I do with this qualification?


Once qualified you could seek employment as a healthcare professional in hospitals, residential homes and out in the community.

This qualification also opens doors to health and social care degrees, including: Midwifery, Adult and Paediatric Nursing, Paramedic Science, ODP, Physiotherapy, Counselling and Social Work.

Course student profiles


Joanne Curry was inspired by the work placements she undertook in care settings during her time at Brock. She gained a First in her Adult Nursing degree from the University of Southampton and now practises as a registered nurse.
