Spanish – improvers

Course introduction

This course is aimed at learners who have completed the  A1 and A2 courses, or those who have previously studied Spanish up to A2 level and want to further improve their fluency to advance towards B1 level. You will have the opportunity to further expand your knowledge of verb tenses, vocabulary and grammatical structure. You will also broaden your current vocabulary through translation and discussion of materials such as newspaper articles and through role play. Topics covered will include present, past, future and conditional tenses, plus reflexive and imperative verb forms. You will practise by describing people and places, personality, mood and emotions. You will also gain an introduction to some idioms and phrasal verbs used in conversational language. The history, customs, culture and features of everyday life of modern Spain and Latin America will be explored as well. Importantly, the core language skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing will be covered in a way that will add greater depth to your Spanish learning experience. There will be no formal assessment. Rather, this is simply an opportunity to practise your skills in a supportive environment under the supervision of a qualified Tutor.
