Course introduction
You can discover how to adopt a positive approach to supporting individuals with autism by selecting this learning opportunity. You will explore the current legislative framework regarding the condition and will learn how various academic theories have developed over time. Importantly, you will gain new knowledge about therapeutic interventions and the responsibilities of a support worker. You will also learn how to support communication, social interaction and transitions.

You will need access to a computer to complete this course.
Course assessment
You will be assessed continuously through a series of assessment questions, which are built into the course. Your answers will be saved automatically, but they will remain available for you to revise and edit at any point before submission. You will submit your assessment answers to your Tutor for marking, who will give you feedback on each question.
Cost
There is a course fee of £450.00 Your course could be fully funded if you are unemployed and in receipt of benefits, or earning less than £25,750.00 annual gross salary.
Minimum entry requirements
You should have a Level 2 qualification or equivalent in a similar subject area. You will be assessed to ensure your level of English meets the requirements of the course. You will need a basic level of IT skills in order to navigate the e-portfolio platform.
