Dance from Musical Theatre

This is a class for all abilities, commencing with a half-hour jazz technique with ballet influences to warm-up and engage core strength and stretching (no jumping). In the second half-hour, you will explore a musical routine adapted for all abilities. This class is all about the joy of dance, feeling good and having fun to well-known songs from musical theatre. The range of music will encompass many genres. This will include ballroom and Latin inspired musicals, such as West Side Story and Dirty Dancing; the energetic songs of Fame and Mamma Mia; and the smooth, slow and contemporary music of The Lion King and Wicked.
Course information
Clothing should be comfortable and enable ease of movement. Please wear layers to allow for warmth and coolness as required. Ballet shoes, slipper socks/soft flat shoes are also acceptable. Please seek the advice of your medical physician if you are receiving or have received had any treatments recently. Please also seek advice if you are in doubt about any condition that you may have that could affect your participation.
