Teaching & learning
You will engage in both theoretical study and hands-on learning, helping to develop the knowledge and skills required for Higher Education, an apprenticeship or employment.
To complete this course, you will take two exams: Principles of engineering, Materials science and technology. In addition, you will complete three internally assessed units: Engineering in practice, plus two units to be confirmed.
Minimum entry requirements
Five GCSEs at grade 4 and above, including:
- Maths grade 5
- English Language grade 4
What can I do with this qualification?
By completing this course successfully you can secure your place on a Higher Education programme to study an engineering related course. You may also be suitable for an engineering related degree apprenticeship. Meanwhile, job roles could include ones in the Merchant Navy or the armed forces.
