GCSE students smash national averages in English and Maths

GCSE students at Brockenhurst College significantly exceeded national averages for high-grade pass rates in English and Maths during last autumn’s exams.
The cohort scored an impressive 52% high-grade pass rate for English and an incredible 53% pass high-grade pass rate for Maths
National averages cited in the Association of Colleges MiDES Report showed a 35% high-grade pass rate for English and a 20% high-grade pass rate for Maths.
A high grade-pass is a grade 4 or higher.
Vice Principal, Simon Lovegrove, said: “Congratulations to all the students and teachers who were involved in this extraordinary effort.
“When you’re doubling national averages, which our students did in Maths, that’s something to be very proud of indeed.”
