Six students from Brockenhurst College have received conditional offers from either the University of Oxford or the University of Cambridge – two of the world’s top seats of higher level learning.

Three of the students aim to study Humanities based subjects, with the other three pursuing STEM focussed learning.

All six have received specialist support, including mock interviews, through the College’s Aspire scheme.

Catherine Allport from Sway aims to study English and French at Oxford, Phoebe Elliott from Lymington intends to study Modern and Medieval Languages at Cambridge, and Lorna McLaughlin from Ferndown is targeting French and Spanish at Oxford.

Meanwhile, Lizzie Salter from Ringwood intends to study Engineering at Cambridge, Kathryn Brooks aims to study Biomedical Science at Oxford, and Yasmine Barberic hopes to study Biochemistry at Oxford.

In addition, two students from Brock’s sister school in China, Zhuhai No:1 School, received conditional offers from Oxford to study Physics and Material Science respectively.

The students will now focus on getting the grades they need to turn their conditional offers into solid places.
