Creative students from Brockenhurst College’s recently had the opportunity to showcase their artistic talents at the annual Arts and Photomedia Show.
The three day exhibition was a celebration of the students’ hard work and commitment throughout their A Level and vocational Sixth Form courses.
The show featured a diverse range of art created by students studying Photography, Fine Art, Media, Textiles, Graphics and Ceramics.
College Principal Di Roberts CBE, Jill Lueddeke Director of Curriculum and David Yates, Chairmen of Governors, attended the private viewing of the exhibition last week.
Tom Hamilton, Head of Photomedia at Brockenhurst, commented: “The standard of work this year has been outstanding, I am very proud of what our students have achieved.”
Fourteen of the students won certificates for their achievements and the very top students received prizes.
A Level Graphics student, Liam Callebout, who won Visual Arts Student Best in Show, said: “I thought the art exhibition was really impressive and of a very high standard. I feel very honoured to receive this award and am grateful to my Graphic art tutors at Brock for providing a supportive and creative environment in which my artistic talents could be explored and freely expressed. My goal is to enter the art arena as an illustrator.”
Holly Ainslie, Fine Art student and winner of the Visual Arts Student Achievement award [the artwork can be seen below], commented: “The Art and Design course at Brock has been fantastic! The amazing tutoring offered to me over the past two years has helped me develop and expand my abilities within my work.
