The winning cake by Blade Wyness

A Level Geology students developed an even greater taste for their subject when they participated in the Great Brock Geology Bake Off.

The idea of the competition was to bake cakes that represent real geological phenomena, and students succeeded with eye-catching results.

Student Blade Wyness won the competition with her trilobite, ammonite and bivalve Victoria sponge, closely followed by Jordan Downer with his death assemblage cake.

Student judge Jasmine Mullins said: “It’s great that Brock still offers this course when other colleges don’t.

“It fits perfectly with my other A Levels and will hopefully make me stand out in my application for an apprenticeship with Esso next year.”
